Rims
Our rims are a selection of tough-looking wheels and are well tested, if you want or need reports, we can provide thse test reports for your chosen rim.
We provide the load rating with all the rims, and can advise if the chosen rim will be suitable for your vehicle.
What wheel to choose for a van or camper?
This is purely a personal choice, but some guidelines will help you make the right choice. It does not make sense to debate how things look, but for bigger rims, it means less height of the tyre. This results in less slack when you will go off the beaten track and drive on gravel roads or stony roads. You will feel this uneven terrain a bit more then with the regular tyre heights. Also, if you want you can deflate the tyres a bit more with higher tyres, to adjust for rougher terrain. The tyre should be suitable for that, and have strong sidewalls. In general this is easier and doable with terrain tyres that are higher. When you drive mainly on good roads, this is not really an issue, and besides the fact that you will feel the uneven roads a bit more because there is less air in the tyres with bigger rims, it does not play a very big role and then you can focus more on esthetics.
If you want you can search our image database and see how a particular wheel look on your type of vehicle. When you don’t see it, please ask, it might be that we have it already.
Our rim designs are tough looking and are appreciated a lot when installed. Every customer sees the whole camper change and it turns that basic look into something spectacular. Especially with the sturdy looking all terrain tyres. Keep in mind that if you value comfort a lot, the all-terrain tyres are not as silent as the more comfortable regular tyres. Our experience is that most customers are fine with that. Keep in mind that the change is not permanent, when you have your original wheelset still around you can decide to change now and then.
Try to keep the rims clean. It is important when you want to have them easily cleaned, to wash them regularly. When you do so, besides that it looks good, they will be easier to clean as dust will get no time to burn into the rims.
Load Rating (Rims)
The load rating of rims refers to the maximum weight that a rim can safely support. It is usually indicated by a number stamped on the rim, expressed in pounds or kilograms. It is important to choose rims with a load rating that matches or exceeds the weight of your vehicle to ensure safe driving conditions.
To calculate the load rating for your car, you will need to determine the maximum weight that the vehicle can safely carry.
Find the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of your car. This can typically be found on a sticker inside the driver's side door frame or in the owner's manual. The GVWR is the maximum weight that your vehicle can safely carry, including the weight of the vehicle itself, passengers, and cargo.
Subtract the curb weight of your car from the GVWR. The curb weight is the weight of the vehicle without any passengers or cargo. You can find this information in the owner's manual or by checking online resources.
The result of this calculation will give you the maximum payload capacity of your vehicle. This is the maximum weight that can be added to the vehicle in terms of passengers and cargo.
It is important to not exceed the load rating of your car, as this can result in poor handling, increased wear on the vehicle components, and potentially dangerous situations. It is always recommended to consult with your vehicle's manufacturer or a qualified mechanic if you have any doubts about the load rating of your car.
Please ask for help if you have any problems. In general all our wheels have a sufficient load rating of 1250KG per wheel, which is more then enough for 90% of the vans and campers we deal with.
Load index (tyres)
The load index with tires is a numerical code that indicates the maximum weight a tire can carry when properly inflated. It is typically found on the sidewall of the tire and is used to ensure that the tire can safely support the weight of the vehicle and its occupants. The higher the load index number, the greater the weight the tire can carry. It is important to match the load index of the tire to the requirements of the vehicle in order to maintain safety and performance.
Steel vs Alloy
We do have some steel wheels in our product portfolio and they look good as well. But what exactly is the difference? The main differences are:
In terms of performance, alloy wheels generally offer better handling and braking performance due to their lighter weight and stiffer construction.
Steel wheels are heavier but more durable and resistant to damage from potholes and other road hazards. They are also easier to repair and generally cheaper to replace if they get damaged.
.
Ultimately, the choice between alloy and steel wheels comes down to personal preference and budget. Alloy wheels are great for those looking for improved aesthetics and performance, while steel wheels are a more cost-effective option that can withstand rough road conditions. It's important to consider your driving habits, style preferences, and budget when choosing between the two.
Fitment
When you use our web shop, you will only see wheels that fit on your vehicle. We have made sure that the rims will fit on your vehicle without any adjustments like lifts, adjusting wheel arches and so on. We did the work for you, these wheels with just fit. For some models like the Ducato/Jumper/Boxer for example, we need to make sure that we check the stud pattern, as it is not always clear which stud pattern is used. We can help with that.
What is a Stud pattern?
A stud pattern refers to the arrangement of the wheel studs (or bolts) on a wheel hub. It indicates the number of studs, the diameter of the circle that passes through the center of each stud, and the distance between the studs. Stud patterns are important because they determine whether a particular wheel can be mounted on a specific vehicle. In our web shop, we show the stud patterns when you select your vehicle, based on the model and year we derive what stud pattern you have.
How do I measure my stud pattern?

TPMS
TPMS stands for tire pressure monitoring system. It is a system that monitors the air pressure in the tires of a vehicle and alerts the driver if the pressure in any of the tires is below the recommended level. TPMS is typically integrated with the rims of the vehicle, as sensors are mounted inside the rims to monitor tire pressure. This helps ensure that tires are properly inflated, which can improve fuel efficiency, prolong tire life, and enhance overall safety on the road.
Let us know if your vehicle has this TPMS system when you order, so we can discuss if you need new ones or you want to have the current ones installed.
